Genshin 7.2 Pull Guide: Mityia and Valeri

Honestly, the Version 7.2 banner lineup is in a pretty awkward spot.

It is not that the characters are bad; they are simply stuck between two priorities. Looking back, players who pulled Odette and Vivo in Versions 7.0 and 7.1 have already spent a considerable amount of Primogems. Looking ahead, the Ice God and Danika are waiting in Version 7.3, when the Snezhnaya lineup will truly come together. Version 7.2 sits right in the middle. Mityia and Valeri are indeed tied to the Star Superconduct team, but how valuable that connection is depends on whether you plan to pull the Ice God later.

So this guide will skip the vague talk and break everything down by player type. Just find the category that fits you.

Version 7.2 Character Overview

Here is a quick table with the basic information for both characters, so you can compare it with the recommendations below.

CharacterRarityElement/WeaponRoleCore Mechanic
Mityia5-starElectro/CatalystStar Superconduct main DPS/off-field supportConverts Superconduct into Star Superconduct and increases the team’s base Star Superconduct damage based on Elemental Mastery
Valeri4-starElectro/SwordShield support+Electro application+EM bufferE provides a shield and Electro-damage feathers; Q applies Electro off-field and grants 120 Elemental Mastery

Mityia’s core design consists of two modules. At C0, she can function as an on-field main DPS, while C2 unlocks her off-field support playstyle. Valeri, meanwhile, is dedicated after-sales support for the Star Superconduct team. His Skill provides a shield and Electro-damage feathers, while his Burst applies Electro from off-field roughly once every 3.5 seconds and grants the whole team 120 Elemental Mastery.

Both characters are in the same banner and will debut in the first half after the Version 7.2 update on November 4.

Mityia Has Two Roles, and Their Pull Priorities Are Completely Different

On-field main DPS (usable at C0): Mityia deals damage through charged attacks from her held Skill. Her kit is complete and does not require constellations. Based on the test-server data, she performs well among 3-to-8-cost main DPS builds, while her performance at higher investment levels is more average. This is not because Mityia is weak, but because the required 5-star teammates have not all arrived yet. Star Superconduct is a new archetype, and its support and sub-DPS roster is still being filled out.

Off-field support (starts at C2): C2 provides resistance reduction, Elemental Mastery, and CRIT DMG buffs. However, there was a major change: Test Server V2 reduced the C2 resistance shred from 25% to 20%. The community has also discussed the possibility that her constellation buff may be changed to team-wide CRIT Rate. CRIT Rate only becomes truly valuable when combined with the Ice God’s talent, which converts excess CRIT Rate into CRIT DMG. In other words, without the Ice God, Mityia’s C2 off-field value may be effectively wasted.

The community’s assessment of this change is very direct: “Without the Ice God, the constellation is basically useless.” Mityia’s on-field ability was strengthened somewhat in the latest changes, while her off-field role was weakened. This direction makes it clear that C0 Mityia is a complete on-field main DPS, while her off-field support role starts at C2 and is tied to the Ice God team.

Pull Recommendations by Player Type

Type 1: You Have Cyno and Want an Off-Field Electro Unit for Him

Mityia is worth pulling, and going straight for C2 is recommended.

Cyno is one of the biggest beneficiaries of Mityia’s off-field module. The community has a practical take: “Instead of adding more investment to Cyno, invest directly in Mityia. Getting C2R1 feels great.” What Cyno lacks is a stable off-field Electro unit with an Elemental Mastery buff, and Mityia’s C2 fills that gap perfectly. If your Cyno is already well built, Mityia’s pull priority can be raised.

However, keep one thing in mind: C2 Mityia applies Electro from off-field once every four seconds, which may not be enough in a single-Electro team. If you plan to use Mityia as the only off-field Electro unit with Cyno, pairing her with Valeri for additional Electro application is recommended. The coverage will be much more consistent with two off-field Electro units.

Type 2: You Plan to Pull the Ice God and Want to Secure a Teammate Early

This situation is more complicated and depends on your budget.

Mityia’s off-field role is clearly tied to the Ice God. The problem is whether a low-constellation Mityia can actually hold her place in an Ice God team. Current test-server data is not conclusive. Some leaks claim the standard Ice God team is “Ice God+Odette+Danika+Mityia C2,” but Danika herself is also an Electro shield support and will not arrive until Version 7.3.

If you only have enough Primogems to guarantee one character, prioritize the Ice God and Danika, while waiting to pick up Mityia on a rerun. The Ice God is the core of the team, and Danika is an important piece arriving in Version 7.3. Their priorities were already clear before Version 7.2. As the fourth slot, Mityia can be evaluated after the team framework is complete. That is safer than pulling blindly now.

Type 3: You Are Skipping the Ice God and Want an Independent Electro Main DPS

Mityia is pullable, but keep your expectations in check.

C0 Mityia has enough power to serve as an on-field main DPS, and her performance in low- and mid-investment test-server builds is good. But “good” means she can clear content, not that she will dominate it. At C0, she is a main DPS who “needs three dedicated buffers and cannot even bring a sub-DPS,” so her team-building flexibility is limited. If you expect her to carry an entire team by herself, you may be disappointed.

In addition, Mityia is competing not only with existing main DPS characters but also with new DPS units from future versions. If you are not specifically lacking an Electro main DPS, it is fine to wait for practical testing before deciding.

Type 4: You Are Low on Primogems and Still Want the Ice God+Danika

Skip Mityia, and at most pick up Valeri along the way.

This is the most rational choice. The Primogem pressure from Version 7.2 to 7.3 is huge, with Mityia, Valeri, the Ice God, and Danika arriving one after another. If your budget cannot cover all of them, giving up Mityia to secure the Ice God and Danika is the most reasonable allocation. Mityia’s off-field support is only complete at C2, making the cost less attractive compared with the Ice God. The community has a similar saying: “Every Mityia pull means one fewer constellation for the Empress.”

Valeri—Pull Him Alongside Mityia, Skip Him Otherwise

kardz_news_YS101505.jpg

Valeri is much simpler than Mityia.

He is essentially “Mityia’s dedicated support.” His Skill provides an Electro shield based on ATK, with 250% absorption efficiency against Electro DMG. His Burst applies Electro from off-field roughly once every 3.5 seconds and grants the whole team 120 Elemental Mastery. His talent also increases the team’s Electro, Lunar Electro-Charged, and Star Superconduct damage after using his Skill, with a larger bonus for Star Superconduct.

If you plan to pull Mityia, pick up Valeri along the way. As a 4-star, he has a low acquisition cost and shares Mityia’s banner, so you will likely obtain him while pulling for her. Valeri’s value in a Star Superconduct team is very real: his shield and Elemental Mastery are the foundation of Mityia’s team. Combined with Mityia’s own EM buffs, the team can receive roughly 240 additional Elemental Mastery, which significantly improves Star Superconduct damage.

If you are not pulling Mityia, you can skip Valeri outright. His damage buffs only reach about one-third of their potential in traditional Electro and Lunar Electro-Charged teams. If you already have Ineph or a mature Electro team, Valeri is an optional 4-star for you.

For constellations, C2 is the key point—it allows all feathers to be fully granted without needing to parry, greatly improving practical consistency. C6 provides the whole team with +10% Electro CRIT Rate and +30% CRIT DMG, making it a high-investment option.

If you have Cyno, pull Mityia to C2; if you want the Ice God, save for the Ice God and Danika and wait for Mityia’s rerun; if you are skipping the Ice God and do not need an Electro DPS, skip and wait for testing; if Primogems are tight, skip Version 7.2 entirely.

The most awkward thing about the Version 7.2 banner is that Mityia’s full value depends heavily on whether you pull the Ice God in Version 7.3. The specific mechanics of the Ice God and Danika will not have reliable test-server data until around the Version 7.2 launch. In other words, when you pull Mityia in Version 7.2, you are betting on a card that has not been fully revealed yet.

If you can accept that uncertainty, use the player-type recommendations above. If not, waiting until the Ice God’s Version 7.3 data becomes clearer before deciding on Mityia is also a safe choice. Version 7.3 is coming after 7.2, and Primogems are easy to spend but difficult to save back. The preview livestream starts at 8 PM on October 23, when all the leaked information should receive a clearer conclusion. Until then, do not rush to pull~
