Laplace is no longer just the old “vibes-only team leader,” and Maxwell is no longer merely a research maniac. Both of them now have combat power that can genuinely change the battlefield.

Laplace: Ultimate Hero — Thunder Hammer, the Hero Returns
As the captain of the Metis Squad, Laplace has always symbolized the Ark’s strongest combat power. Her new form, “Ultimate Hero,” finally gives her strength worthy of that title—her weapon has been upgraded from the original launcher into “Ultimate Hero Syndrome,” a thunder hammer imbued with lightning power that can punish villains threatening the Ark.
Missilis Industry, the company she belongs to, is known for cutting-edge technology, and this upgrade also represents the company’s most advanced weaponization technology.

Laplace: Ultimate Hero is classified as an Attacker-type Nikke. Her core mechanic revolves around “enhancing her own attack power”—when she uses her Burst Skill, she greatly boosts her own ATK and deals significant damage to multiple enemies. From a practical standpoint, she may become a representative of the next generation of wave-clearing DPS.
The combination of Wind code and launcher weapon gives her a natural advantage against certain enemies. Her ammo type is described as “RL,” which is likely short for “Rocket Launcher,” continuing the weapon type of the original Laplace.

In the setting, Maxwell is the “brain” of the Metis Squad—a genius researcher who loves machinery and knowledge, and who develops her own weapons and tactics. With sharp insight, outstanding intelligence, and the ability to craft weapons by hand, she handles the brainwork and sarcastic remarks within the Metis Squad.
Her new form, “Innocent Technician,” may represent her return to her roots as a “researcher.” She wields a new weapon named “My Holy Baby,” allowing her to pierce through enemies with stronger armaments while also using enhanced equipment to provide more delicate support to her “troublemaking teammates.”

Maxwell: Innocent Technician is positioned as a Supporter-type Nikke, using an “SR” weapon (presumably a sniper rifle) and Wind code.
Her core mechanic is boosting the whole team’s ATK—when she uses her Burst Skill, she strengthens both herself and all allies. This means she can not only contribute damage, but also significantly raise the team’s overall firepower.

The original Maxwell is already an excellent sniper and team damage support in the game. Her Skill 1, “Straight Shot,” increases charge speed and ATK for the 2 allies with the highest ATK during Full Burst, so she is often used in sniper-focused teams.
Based on previous discussions in overseas communities, the original Maxwell often appears as a damage-boosting support for piercing main DPS characters such as “Snow White/Alice/Scarlet,” performing especially well in Union Raid.
