3.7 Dual Character Introduction and Strength Analysis

Xinyue Fox (Xin) — The First Playable Lord of Ages, Electro Dual Forms

Team direction: She is speculated to form an electromagnetic reaction team with Xinyue Fox + Electro Rover/Suo Ming + Sui Sui. If Suo Ming is indeed her dedicated teammate, switching between the two may trigger special coordinated attacks—switching from Suo Ming to Xin triggers periodic lightning strikes, while switching back summons spear-like constructs that deal sustained damage~

Suo Ming — Quick-Swap Synergy Core with Surprisingly Satisfying Impact

Suo Ming is a native of Huating in Dream州. To resolve the “evil miasma” afflicting her hometown, she founded the “Ten Binding Contracts” and took charge of the Di Tian Jian under the orders of the Lord of Ages~

Appearance and lore: Her red twin-tails, self-reference as “this concubine,” and classical Chinese speaking style make her highly memorable. Her weapon is a mechanical umbrella, and her combat style focuses on quick swaps and burst damage~

Combat mechanics: She is an Electro Sword user. Her core Forte, “Tenfold Contract,” absorbs other characters’ Forte frequencies into contract locks, storing up to ten frequencies and releasing them for additional power. The impact of her gameplay footage has been described as “visibly solid”; the last Sword character to receive that kind of praise was Jinhsi~

The real highlight: Her two-person synergy mechanic with Xinyue Fox. Switching between the two triggers coordinated attacks, meaning they need to be teamed together to reach their full potential. Quick-swap players are likely going to be thrilled~

In one sentence: Xin and Suo Ming are very likely a “sold as a package” team combination, and pulling only one of them may result in an incomplete experience~

3.6 Character Review and Pairing Analysis

Qingxiao — On-Field Main DPS for the Jiyanhe System, Highly Team-Dependent

Qingxiao is an Aero Sword character designed as an on-field main DPS for the Jiyanhe system. She features a dual-form Qin-and-sword mechanic and the ability to fly while wielding her sword~

Key issue: She is extremely dependent on teammates from the Jiyanhe system, and her strength drops significantly outside that setup. Her ideal team is Qingxiao + Danjinya + Mo Ning, with all three being essential~

Strength rating: Character tier lists for version 3.6 are expected to place Qingxiao around Lord of Ages level, putting her near the top of the version. However, while her damage ceiling is high after her setup is complete, her first rotation is relatively weak and she has issues switching targets~

Jingran — HP-Shield DPS with a Unique Kit but Bad Timing

Jingran is a Fusion Broadblade character and Wuthering Waves’ first five-star main DPS whose primary damage scales from maximum HP~

Core mechanics: Her damage is calculated from her own maximum HP, making ATK bonuses almost ineffective. She has stable shield mechanics and can create a shield for herself. She can switch between Yin and Yang forms, with different names for her basic attacks and Resonance Skills in each state~

Strength rating: Some analysis considers Jingran an overall upgrade over Augusta, with a certain degree of aerial combat capability. However, the general community sentiment is that “Xinyue Fox and Suo Ming have raised expectations to the limit, so Jingran’s banner has basically become a transitional banner for saving Astrites”~

Pairing analysis: Jingran has a relatively high demand for support characters, and the rerun of Mo Ning in the second half of 3.6 can work with her. However, if you plan to pull Xinyue Fox in 3.7, Jingran’s pull priority will drop significantly~

Of course, if your Astrites are limited, skipping Jingran will be the choice for most players. Her banner timing is genuinely awkward, with Qingxiao before her and a Lord of Ages after her, making her easy to overlook~
