Wuthering Waves 3.6 Jingran Complete Guide: The Yin-Yang Path of the HP Warrior, Iuno's Perfect Partner

HP-scaling main DPS, tied to Yuno, with shield teammates as the key puzzle piece

Jingran is the first 5-star main DPS inwhose primary damage source scales with Max HP. Based on the information currently released officially, regular ATK bonuses are almost useless for him, and his DEF is locked at a fixed value, but he has extremely high healing received efficiency and strong self-shielding ability. His best partner is Yuno, who provides a 50% Heavy Attack DMG Bonus, followed by teammates who can provide shields consistently. In short: players with Yuno can pull without hesitation, while players without Yuno should wait and see or prepare to get Yuno.

Role Positioning: Fusion Broadblade Main DPS with Yin-Yang Dual Stance Switching

Jingran is a 5-star Fusion Broadblade character debuting in the second-half banner of Version 3.6, and he is also the only male character among the six new Mengzhou characters. He has long wandered through mirage mists and ruins of the old world, unbound by sect rules or worldly order.

His core gameplay revolves around Yin-Yang dual stance switching, converting HP into damage, and shield-linked mechanics. He is an on-field main DPS who requires some understanding of his rotation but offers solid strength.

Character keywords: Yin-Yang eyes, secret realm explorer, solitary and free-spirited, able to see through truth and illusion.

Core Mechanics Breakdown (Based on Test Server Data)

Yin-Yang Dual Stance System

Jingran starts in the Embracing Yang state. By casting Heavy Attack: Jiepo or Heavy Attack: Tagang, he switches between Bearing Yin and Embracing Yang:

StateFeatureBasic AttackResonance Skill
Bearing YinLeans toward Yin energyBasic Attack: ShezhaoResonance Skill: Yin Shigu
Embracing YangLeans toward Yang energyBasic Attack: MieshaResonance Skill: Yang Fenshen

The Basic Attacks and Resonance Skills have different names in the two states, but both mainly deal damage through Heavy Attacks.

HP Conversion and HP-Drain Mechanics

Jingran's damage calculation is based on his own Max HP, making regular ATK bonuses almost ineffective for him.

Resonance Liberation "Burial of Ten Thousand Ghosts": deals Fusion Heavy Attack damage and enters the "Yinghuo" state, during which he summons spirits to perform coordinated attacks;

HP conversion: each point of HP can be converted into ATK, with the cap limited by the character's stat panel;

DEF lock: Jingran's DEF is fixed at a specific value, while he gains extra healing received efficiency based on Max HP;

Note: Specific numbers, such as HP conversion ratio and HP-drain percentage, are still test server data. Please refer to the official live version.

Three Core Resource Management

ResourceFunctionHow to Obtain
QiConsumed to cast Heavy Attacks and switch stances

Basic Attack stages 3/4, follow-up Resonance Skills, Ultimate

Life FlameConsumed by most attacks; when too low, Toughness reduction is weakened, and when it reaches zero, damage is increased

Recovered through stance-switching Heavy Attacks

Ghost GuardGrants damage bonus when switching stances; consumed by Intro SkillAccumulated when teammates or Jingran himself gain shields

Recommended Teams

[Top Recommendation] Jingran + Yuno + Shorekeeper

This is currently the highest-output lineup in both theory and testing.

Synergy logic:

Yuno: her Outro Skill provides the next character with a 50% Heavy Attack DMG Bonus for 10 seconds. Jingran's own shields can also be converted into up to 40% All-Type DMG Bonus inside Yuno's "Full Moon Field," making the synergy nearly perfect;

Shorekeeper: provides stable healing and global damage buffs without relying on ATK stats, ensuring Jingran's survivability and stable output;

Alternative: Morin, expected in a later version, can serve as a replacement or upgrade option for Shorekeeper;

[Transition] Jingran + Mortefi + Baizhi

For players with limited resources or without Yuno/Shorekeeper, this team can be used first as a baseline setup, then gradually upgraded later.

Special note: the ATK bonus provided by Mortefi is almost useless for Jingran. When building teams, prioritize characters who provide Heavy Attack DMG Bonus, All-DMG Bonus, or HP-linked mechanics.

Build Recommendations (Based on Test Server)

Echoes and Stats

Core stat priority:

Main stats: HP% > Crit Rate ≈ Crit DMG > ATK%

Substats: Crit Rate ≈ Crit DMG > HP% > ATK%

Endgame Setup

● Prioritize completing two Cost 1 Echoes with HP main stats

● Next, build a Cost 4 Echo with a Crit main stat

● Finally, choose the main stats for Cost 3 Echoes based on substats

Resonance Chain Analysis (Based on Test Server Leaks)

R2Heavy Attack damage multiplier increase + starting Qi and Ghost GuardOne of the major power spikes
R3Increased Ghost Guard acquisition + Fusion DMG BonusKey damage boost

R5Fatal damage immunity + large shieldSurvivability guarantee
R6Targets take increased Heavy Attack damage + continuous Yinghuo summonsComplete form

Jingran is a main DPS with unique mechanics, a solid ceiling, and strong reliance on specific teammates. If you have Yuno, Jingran's strength and comfort will rise by a full tier; if not, it is recommended to wait and see or plan ahead for Yuno.

Resource planning advice:

With Yuno: Jingran is worth investing in. Starting at 0+1 is recommended, with R2 as a major power spike;

Without Yuno: consider skipping Jingran and waiting for a more universal main DPS in later versions;

F2P players: use "Jingran + Mortefi + Baizhi" as a transition team first, then get Yuno and Shorekeeper later;

Final reminder: all skill values, Resonance Chain effects, and mechanic details above are based on test server data and leaks. They may still be adjusted before Version 3.6 officially launches. Please refer to the in-game implementation for final details.
