But here’s the real question: Is Hotori actually good?

Short answer? Yes — but not in the way you might expect. This sleepy, always-half-drunk antique shop owner from Ibon has one of the most unique kits in the game right now: time-stop mechanics.

Hotori’s Skills & Core Mechanics

Hotori is a Light-element character (same as the MC), filling a hybrid role — part burst DPS, part damage amplifier.

Her normal attacks use an umbrella and some hand-to-hand moves — feels a bit light. You can do a 5-hit combo, and holding the attack button performs a gap-closer.

Her special resource bar is the “Unclosed Timepiece.” It sits left of her HP bar, maxes at 120 points, and fills passively over time. No need to hit enemies — just wait.

Time Stop – Combat & Exploration

Outside of combat, holding the normal attack button consumes Timepiece energy to slow time around Hotori. This also works in the open world — great for screenshots or just messing with the scenery.

Traversal Skill (Skill 1) – No Cooldown, but Costs Energy

◆ Cost: 60 Timepiece energy

◆ Effect: Deals 7-hit AoE damage, plus it records teammates’ support/traversal skills for the next 5 seconds.

◆ Limit: Can record 3 skills max, one from each teammate.

Ultimate (Extreme Traversal) – No Energy Cost, Needs Full Bar

◆ Requirement: Timepiece energy must be full (120)

◆ Effect: Hotori pulls out a katana, deals 10-hit AoE damage, stops time in an area, and switches to katana attacks.

◆ Special mechanic: If her Traversal Skill has recorded any attacks (shown as white flower petals above her HP bar), she replays those recorded skills instantly, clears the record, and deals massive burst damage.

This is why the game calls her a “damage output amplifier” — no stat buffs, just doing your team’s best moves twice.

◆ AoE damage.
