Nicole has been out for about two weeks now, and I've tested her in multiple teams, including Varka, Kenich, and Xiao.

My conclusion is a bit mixed.

She's genuinely good. In fact, she's so comfortable to play that I don't really want to take her off my teams anymore. But if you're asking whether she's a "must-pull" character, my answer is no.

This isn't another Nicole build guide. Instead, it's about a much more practical question:

Should you spend your Primogems on Nicole, or save them for what's coming next?

Here's the short answer before we dive into the details.

  • Pull Nicole if you're actively playing Varka, Kenich, Xiao, Venti, or Wanderer.

  • Consider skipping if your account already revolves around the current top-tier meta carries.

  • If you're low on Primogems, save them. Snezhnaya is getting closer, and Version 6.6 is surprisingly stingy with free pulls.

Let's break it down.

Why Nicole Is Actually Good

Nicole is a Pyro catalyst support whose kit revolves around two things:

  • Teamwide ATK buffs

  • A very durable shield

Her Elemental Skill provides an ATK boost that scales from her own ATK stat. At around 4,000 ATK, she can provide roughly 600 ATK to the entire party.

The important part is the entire party.

That's what separates her from Bennett.

A highly invested Bennett can provide over 1,200 ATK, but only to the active character. Nicole spreads her buff across multiple teammates, which can be more valuable in teams that rely on coordinated damage.

Her shield deserves attention as well.

Because the shield scales from ATK and Nicole already wants to stack ATK, it becomes surprisingly tanky. With a 20-second duration and a 16-second cooldown, maintaining near-constant uptime is easy.

For characters like Varka that dislike interruption during combo sequences, this shield often feels stronger than the numbers suggest.

Nicole also gains additional synergy with members of the Hexenzirkel. When paired with another Hexenzirkel character, her Elemental Burst significantly boosts Arcane Projection damage, making combinations with Duran especially appealing.

Even Supporters of Nicole Say She's Not Mandatory

One thing that stood out to me is that many creators who praise Nicole still end up giving the same advice:

Don't feel pressured to pull her.

After spending time with the character myself, I completely understand why.

Nicole isn't a meta-defining unit.

She's a comfort upgrade.

The strongest meta carries in the game right now don't suddenly become top-tier because of Nicole. The teams that gain the most are specific lineups centered around characters such as Varka, Kenich, and Xiao.

In other words:

Nicole makes good teams feel smoother. She doesn't make weak accounts suddenly powerful.

That distinction matters when you're deciding whether to spend Primogems—or real money.

Version 6.6 Is Brutal for Primogem Savings

This is probably the biggest factor in the entire decision.

Version 6.6 offers fewer free Primogems than many recent patches. Free-to-play players can expect roughly 60 pulls across the version.

That's not even enough to guarantee a single 5-star.

A featured 5-star can require:

  • Up to 90 pulls for pity

  • Up to 180 pulls if you lose the 50/50

If you only have around 60 pulls saved, you're gambling.

That's why I recommend caution.

If Nicole drains your savings and Snezhnaya arrives with multiple highly anticipated characters, you may regret spending everything now.

Nicole is a comfort upgrade.

Snezhnaya could introduce future account-defining characters.

Those are not the same thing.

Who Should Pull Nicole?

Pull Her If:

  • You actively play Varka

  • You actively play Kenich

  • You actively play Xiao

  • You actively play Venti

  • You actively play Wanderer

  • You already own Duran and want a strong Hexenzirkel pairing

In these situations, Nicole provides meaningful performance gains rather than simple quality-of-life improvements.

Kenich players in particular benefit greatly from the combination of Nicole's shield, ATK buff, and the new Celestial Gift artifact set.

Optional Pull

If your account already revolves around the strongest current meta DPS characters, Nicole becomes more of a luxury addition.

She'll make gameplay smoother and more comfortable, but she probably won't unlock content that you couldn't already clear.

At that point, the decision comes down to:

  • How many Primogems you have

  • How much you like the character

Skip If:

  • You have fewer than 90 pulls saved

  • You don't play Varka, Kenich, Xiao, or similar teams

  • You're saving for Snezhnaya

Her constellations are good, and her signature weapon is solid, but testing suggests the weapon only provides around a 7–10% team DPS increase.

Interestingly, C1 is often slightly more valuable than the signature weapon.

That means Nicole is one of those rare characters who feels complete at C0.

You don't need to chase constellations.

You definitely don't need to whale for R1.

If You Decide to Pull, Spend Carefully

Genshin Impact uses UID-based top-ups, so you don't need to share your account password. Simply enter your UID, and purchases are typically delivered within minutes.

If you're short on pulls and need a small Primogem boost, topping up through Kardz can offer some savings compared to standard pricing.

Current discounts generally range between 6% and 11%, depending on the package, and first-time purchases may qualify for additional promotions.

That said, I still wouldn't recommend heavy spending for Nicole specifically.

She's not the kind of character that demands maximum investment.

A more reasonable approach would be:

Buy the Monthly Pass

The Blessing of the Welkin Moon remains one of the highest-value purchases in Genshin Impact.

If you're a long-term player, this is usually the best place to spend.

Top Up Only When You're Close to Pity

If you've already accumulated 70–80 pulls and just need a few more wishes to secure pity, a small top-up makes far more sense than starting from zero and spending heavily.
