The June 11 update might be the most overwhelming banner cycle NIKKE has had in the last year.

Ark Ranger Black arrived with her own Special Recruit. All six summer limited characters returned at the same time through the new Limited Select Recruit system. A fully voiced event went live. Free skill resets showed up in everyone's mailbox.

For most players, the problem isn't whether there are good characters to pull.

It's that there are too many.

If you've only got enough Gems for one pity, this banner is going to force some hard choices.

The good news is that the new Limited Select system is much better than previous reruns.

Instead of six characters sharing the same rate-up pool, you choose one target before you start pulling. Only that character gets the 2% rate-up. The other five won't appear at all.

Once you get your target, you can switch to someone else immediately.

Compared to previous summer reruns, it's a huge improvement for anyone trying to fill specific gaps in their roster.

Is Ark Ranger Black Worth Pulling?

Let's start with the new character.

Ark Ranger Black is a Wind AR attacker built around sustained damage rather than short burst windows.

Instead of dumping all her damage at once, she ramps up over the course of a fight through self-buffs and keeps pressure on the boss as the battle goes on.

What caught most players' attention is her transformation mechanic.

Activating her Burst Skill triggers a full transformation, something we haven't really seen since Dorothy.

That alone doesn't make her overpowered, but it does make her one of the more interesting releases we've had recently.

Right now, it's still too early to know exactly where she lands in the Wind meta.

Raid rankings and boss data will tell the real story.

That said, she doesn't look like one of those characters everyone forgets about two weeks after release.

If you're already investing in a Wind team or looking for a long-term DPS option, she's worth considering.

If your resources are limited, though, I'd still put the summer limiteds ahead of her.

Ark Ranger Black joins the permanent pool after her banner ends.

The summer units don't.

My recommendation

  • Building a Wind team: worth considering

  • New players: prioritize summer limiteds

  • Low on Gems: save for limiteds first

  • Already have a strong Wind roster: wait for Raid data

Anis: Sparkling Summer

Summer Limited Pull Priority

If your goal is account progression rather than collection, I'd split the six returning characters into three groups.

Tier 1 — The Safest Pulls

Anis: Sparkling Summer

If your account is missing Summer Anis, I'd fix that before looking at anything else in this rerun.

She's one of the few limited characters that has stayed relevant long after her original release.

Electric teams still rely on her, especially in Solo Raid and Union Raid, and the value she brings hasn't really disappeared with time.

What makes her even better is that she isn't locked into pure Electric teams.

A lot of players still find room for her outside dedicated Electric compositions.

There aren't many people who regret pulling Summer Anis.

Helm: Aquamarine

Helm fills a very different role.

Anis increases damage.

Helm improves tempo.

Her ability to speed up Burst rotations affects almost every piece of content in the game, especially longer boss fights where every extra Burst window matters.

Helm isn't usually the character people get excited about.

She's usually the character people miss when she's gone.

Once you're used to faster Burst cycles, going back feels terrible.

If you already own Summer Anis, Helm is usually the next character I'd look at.

Mary: Bay Goddess

Tier 2 — Strong If You Have the Team

Mary: Bay Goddess

Mary is still one of the best support options for Water teams.

Healing, survivability, and Water-focused buffs all come in one package.

The downside is pretty straightforward.

Most of her value is tied directly to Water compositions.

If Water teams aren't part of your account plans, she may spend more time on the bench than on the battlefield.

For dedicated Water players, though, she's extremely difficult to replace.

Neon: Blue Ocean

Neon's role is simple.

She's there to deal damage.

Her performance in Water-focused content has remained solid, and she continues to be one of the more reliable damage dealers available for Water teams.

I've never thought Neon was the problem.

The real issue is that many accounts don't have enough invested Water units around her.

If your Water roster is already built, she's easy to justify.

If not, there are probably better places to spend your Gems.

Sakura: Bloom in Summer

Tier 3 — Mostly for Wind Specialists

Sakura: Bloom in Summer

Sakura looked much more important when she first released.

Since then, Wind teams have gained several strong options, which naturally pushed her down the priority list.

She's still useful.

She's just no longer the account-changing pull she once felt like.

Unless you're heavily invested in Wind teams, there are probably stronger targets available.

Rosanna: Chic Ocean

Rosanna falls into a similar category.

She helps complete a Wind roster.

She doesn't define one.

If your Gems are limited, she's usually the last character I'd chase from this rerun.

That doesn't make her bad.

It just means the opportunity cost is harder to justify compared to the names above her.

If You Can Only Choose One

My personal ranking looks like this:

  1. Anis: Sparkling Summer

  2. Helm: Aquamarine

  3. Mary: Bay Goddess

  4. Neon: Blue Ocean

  5. Sakura: Bloom in Summer

  6. Rosanna: Chic Ocean

For newer players, I'd simply choose between Anis and Helm.

For dedicated Water players, Mary and Neon become much more attractive.

Sakura and Rosanna are the kind of picks you make when you're already happy with the rest of your roster.

Things to Do Before the Banner Ends

Free Skill Reset

Available until June 18, 04:59 UTC+9.

Everyone received three Skill Uninstallers through in-game mail.

If you're planning to build Ark Ranger Black or any newly acquired Summer unit, this is probably the best opportunity you'll get to reorganize your skill investments.

Batch Skill Upgrades

One of the quieter quality-of-life improvements this patch is the new batch upgrade system.

You can now upgrade skills in a single action instead of tapping through every level manually.

If you've been putting off skill upgrades for older characters, now is a good time to clean that up.

Summer Login Rewards

The ARK RANGER event includes a 14-day cumulative login campaign running through July 2.

Advanced Recruit Vouchers and upgrade materials are available just for logging in.

If you're planning to pull on any of these banners, don't leave free resources on the table.

Running Low on Gems?

The hardest part of this update isn't choosing who you want.

It's accepting that you probably can't pull everyone.

Before topping up, check your Gold Mileage count first.

Two hundred Gold Mileage Tickets can be exchanged directly for your target character.

If you're already close to pity, it's usually smarter to calculate exactly how many pulls you're missing rather than blindly chasing luck.

Being ten pulls short of a guaranteed character feels far worse than skipping a banner entirely.

If you decide to top up, Kardz offers NIKKE Gems through a UID-based system.

Simply enter your UID from the profile screen—no account password required.

Most orders are delivered within minutes, and multiple payment methods are supported, including Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, and local payment options.

Figure out your target first.

Then plan your Gems and Mileage Tickets around that goal.

That approach almost always works out better than pulling on impulse.

Final Thoughts

If your account doesn't have Summer Anis or Helm, those should be your highest priorities.

Ark Ranger Black looks promising, but she'll eventually join the permanent pool.

The summer limiteds may not return for another year.

For most players, that makes the decision pretty simple.

Limited characters first.

Everything else can wait.
