PUBG Mobile Version 4.5 Preview

Version 4.5 officially launches on July 9, but the beta has been live long enough that we already have a pretty good idea of what this update looks like in practice.
And honestly?
This might be one of the most stacked PUBG Mobile updates we've seen in a long time.
Naruto Shippuden.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Ferrari.
Any one of those would normally be enough to headline a major update. PUBG Mobile decided to put all three into the same patch.
If you're sitting on a limited amount of UC, this is probably the version where planning ahead actually matters.
I've spent time with the beta content that's currently available, so I'll separate what's already playable from what's still based on official announcements and leaks.
Naruto Shippuden Collaboration
Let's start with the biggest one.
The Naruto collaboration launches alongside Version 4.5 on July 9 and is easily the centerpiece of this update.
What surprised me most is that PUBG Mobile didn't treat Naruto as a simple cosmetic crossover.
The ninja mechanics are actually built into gameplay.
After spending time with them in beta, some are much more useful than I expected.
Ninja Run
The first thing you'll notice is Ninja Run.
A new button appears on Spawn Island that switches your character into Naruto-style running.
Movement speed increases.
Jump height increases.
And yes—you can run directly across water.
That last part changes gameplay more than it sounds.
Crossing rivers normally means swimming or taking a long route around. With Ninja Run, you can simply sprint across the surface and keep moving.
Watching an entire squad sprint across a lake like a scene from the anime feels ridiculous.
Which somehow makes it feel perfectly at home in PUBG Mobile.
Chakra System
All ninja abilities consume Chakra.
You'll see a separate Chakra bar that drains when using abilities and gradually regenerates when not in use.
Regular movement doesn't consume it.
Constant Ninja Run and jutsu abilities do.
After a few matches, Chakra management started feeling surprisingly important.
Spam abilities too aggressively and you'll find yourself out of options during fights.
Which Jutsu Actually Feels Good?
After testing the current beta build, not every ability feels equally useful.
Some already look strong.
Others probably need balance adjustments before release.
Chidori
Chidori looks great but feels awkward.
The charge-up animation leaves you exposed, and the damage currently doesn't feel high enough to justify the risk.
Unless it gets buffed before launch, I wouldn't be surprised if most players stop using it after the novelty wears off.
Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu
This one immediately stood out.
Think of it as a Molotov with better area control.
The burn duration feels longer and the coverage area is larger.
Throwing it behind cover can force enemies out of strong defensive positions.
So far, this is one of the abilities I've gotten the most value from.
Rasengan
If I had to guess which jutsu deals the most practical damage, Rasengan would be near the top.
The cooldown sits around ten seconds, and landing it creates a noticeable burst damage window.
It feels rewarding without being overly complicated.
Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu
Probably the most fun ability in the beta.
Multiple clones appear and move alongside you.
You can then swap positions with one of them using a dedicated button.
The clones don't last very long, but they create enough confusion to break line of sight or escape pressure.
I managed to lose pursuers several times simply by dropping clones and changing directions.
Flying Raijin Jutsu
This is the ability I expect high-level players to abuse the most.
Throw a kunai.
Activate the skill.
Instantly teleport to its location.
The cooldown is roughly 10–15 seconds.
Escaping ambushes, reaching rooftops, repositioning during fights—it feels useful almost everywhere.
If I had to rank the jutsu based on current beta performance, Flying Raijin would be near the top.
Substitution Log
Technically not a jutsu, but a consumable item.
When your HP drops below a critical threshold, your character transforms into a wooden log and relocates.
It's basically a one-time emergency escape button.
The first time it triggered during testing was genuinely hilarious.
One second you're dead.
The next second there's a log where you were standing and you're suddenly somewhere else.
Reanimation Jutsu
This may actually be the strongest utility item in the entire collaboration.
It allows you to revive eliminated teammates directly without using a Recall Tower.
Each player can only use it once.
After that, normal recall rules apply.
If this survives unchanged into the live version, I expect it to become one of the most valuable items in squad matches.
Rogue Ninjas
Enemy AI ninjas now appear around the map.
Defeating them rewards jutsu-related loot and special items.
I've already been ambushed by them more than once during beta testing.
They're not difficult to kill.
They're just very good at showing up when you're focused on something else.
Spider-Man Returns
The second major collaboration arrives on July 30.
PUBG Mobile officially confirmed the Spider-Man: Brand New Day crossover on June 6.
Players who remember the No Way Home collaboration from 2022 already know why people are excited.
The big attraction is the return of Web Shooters.
Swinging between buildings remains one of the most enjoyable movement mechanics PUBG Mobile has ever added.
It's faster than running.
More flexible than vehicles.
And it creates attack angles that normally shouldn't exist.
Web Grenades are also expected to return, allowing players to slow and trap enemies instead of dealing direct damage.
Most Spider-Man details are still based on official teasers and previous collaboration patterns rather than beta testing, so we'll need to wait for launch before judging balance.
Ferrari Returns with Four New Cars
Ferrari is back for a second round.
This time the collaboration includes:
Ferrari Roma
Ferrari Purosangue
Ferrari LaFerrari
Ferrari SF90 XX Spider
Unlike Naruto or Spider-Man, Ferrari doesn't change gameplay.
These are vehicle cosmetics.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
If you collect vehicle skins, this is probably one of the biggest automotive collaborations PUBG Mobile has ever had.
If you care primarily about gameplay, it's also the easiest collaboration to skip.
Which Collaboration Should You Prioritize?
If your UC budget is limited, I'd personally rank them like this:
1. Naruto
The gameplay impact is huge.
Most of the core mechanics can be experienced without spending UC, making it the easiest collaboration to enjoy for free.
2. Spider-Man
The movement mechanics alone make this worth paying attention to.
I'd wait for the final reward structure before committing UC.
3. Ferrari
Purely cosmetic.
Buy it if you love the cars.
Ignore it if you don't.
There's no gameplay advantage either way.
Version 4.5 feels less like a normal seasonal update and more like three separate collaborations sharing the same patch.
Naruto brings entirely new gameplay systems.
Spider-Man adds some of the most popular mobility mechanics PUBG Mobile has ever released.
Ferrari targets collectors with four new supercars.
For most players, the smartest move is simple:
Play the Naruto content first.
Wait for the Spider-Man reward details.
Then decide how much UC you actually need.
That's usually cheaper than trying to buy everything on day one.
